摘要：We consider a general (constrained) sphere packing problem which is to pack nonoverlapping spheres with the maximum volume into a convex set. We show that the problem reduces to a global optimization problem. We survey existing methods algorithms for solving the circle packing problems as well as their industrial applications. We also formulate a new optimal control problem based on sphere packing problem. Applications of sphere packing problems in economics and business have been given.

报告人简介：Enkhbat Rentsen，蒙古族，出生于1958年，专业为应用数学，现任蒙古科学院院士，数学与数字技术研究所数学系主任。研究方向为最优化，最优控制，2018年获“蒙古国国立大学最佳研究型教师（2017年度）”奖，出版多部最优化专著，主持多项蒙古国科学技术基金。
